A tournament to find the most valid spots for future bike racks in North Brooklyn! Join us for this lively competition and win awesome prizes like a B's Bikes bike/gift basket, NY Transit museum multi-tool, and goodie (tote) bags from Transportation Alternatives!
BRING A CAMERA (or phone). This contest is the culmination of this fall's campaign to compile a bulk order of 300 vetted bike rack locations for Brooklyn Community District 1--the pilot effort for the FixCity: Bike Racks project. Contestants will "verify" spots previously suggested and search out new ones. Prizes will go to the team who finds the most spots!
Brought to you by The Open Planning Project, Livable Streets Initiative, and Neighbors Allied for Good Growth in partnership with Not An Alternative! and Transportation Alternatives' Brooklyn Volunteer Committee.
How we are trying to make this event "green":
Lack of secure bike parking is one of the biggest deterrents to biking. Better bike parking makes carbon-neutral transportation more accessible to all! This North Brooklyn event is will help expand the fixcity.org project for better bike rack planning throughout NYC.
