Lollapalooza 2010: Green Street in the Park
This great green event is over now!
Green Street is spreading its wings and will be located in a new area of the festival grounds that includes beautiful sculptures, relaxing gardens, and fields perfect for a picnic.
* Shop the Art Market... The expanded Art Market will include old favorites and new additions that specialize in sustainable, fair trade and philanthropic goods. Check out the select retailers that meet Lolla's tight eco-guidelines and unrivaled sense of style. Whether you fancy fine art or fashionable clothing and accessories, you’ll find a keepsake in this earth-friendly art market. You can also find Lolla Green Goods as part of the art market.
* Enjoy Local Fare from the Green Street Farmers Market... Support the Chicago area’s sustainable food movement by treating yourself to a local delight from the new Green Street Farmers Market, located between Buckingham Fountain and the main entrance to Lollapalooza. Enjoy the work of local farmers, artisanal producers, and restaurants that come together for you. Enjoy a relaxing picnic in this new addition to Lollapalooza! A full list of participating vendors is coming soon.
* Rock & Recycle... Pitch in and be part of Lolla’s commitment to being kind to Grant Park and the environment. Check back to learn how you can earn cool swag.
* Offset Your Carbon Footprint... Buy your $3 Lollapalooza Green Mountain Energy Fan Tag and offset your festival travel. Learn more on website.
* Make a Difference... Stroll down Green Street and visit select organizations that will show you how to open your mind and heart and make the world a better place. These nonprofits cover a variety of subjects, from the environment to politics to health to education. Learn about the good works of the Parkways Foundation, and the Gulf oil spill clean-up efforts by Sierra Club. After all, it’s easy being green, but not without the help of organizations such as these.
See website, linked above, for more info and program details.
