Love is In The Air: Love bird houses, songs & seats - An exhibit of nature made and recycled wood creations, with a study of the western bird habitat by Ken, Tom, Molly and Bernie Boek. Opening Feb., 5th from 5-8 pm with wine & chocolate and live music by Clay Hawkins and Les Boek, exibit showing Feb.- March.
The show features nature made & recycled wood creations with a study of the western bird habitat by Ken, Tom, Molly and Bernie Boek. The idea for the exhibit was born out of a combination of Ken Boek’s unique and righteous bird houses that are not only eye-catching, but well-received by our bird community, and Ken’s interest in educating people about this special time of year. Valentines is when birds choose their mates and nest.
The gallery will be brimming with rustic bird homes made from recycled redwood, with details of willow and heart shapes. They have a subtle oriental flare with textures and tones in the wood are rich and velvety. They naturally fit into their outdoor settings and are a proven success with our feathered friends. The loveseats by Tom Boek are divine benches made from recycled redwood and willow, they are large and legendary, with soft edges and beautifully aged wood. They seem to have arrived from an enchanted forest. The star of the show is a majestic, golden, willow loveseat, it celebrates it’s form with lively swirls and supreme details. Also included are reclaimed, luscious, oak, merlot-dyed barrel and antique grape box tables.The exhibit not only calls attention to our local, ethical creations, but to our local bird habitat with information and intimate bird images by Bernie and Molly Boek.
The opening party will be Friday, Feb. 5th, from 5-8pm and will feature live music by Clay Hawkins and Les Boek.
