18 chef teams (9 amateur, 9 professional) will be challenged to create a culinary dish made primarily of organic and sustainable ingredients for over 400 guests. The added twist – the dish must pair perfectly with HALL Wines, 2005 HALL Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
First Annual HALL Cabernet Cookoff™
WHAT: HALL Wines (Napa Valley – www.hallwines.com) presents the First Annual Cabernet Cookoff™ where chefs, both amateur and professional, will have the opportunity to proclaim their paramount culinary talent and earn cash prizes for their favorite Napa Valley non-profits.
18 chef teams (9 amateur, 9 professional) will be challenged to create a culinary dish made primarily of organic and sustainable ingredients for over 400 guests. The added twist – the dish must pair perfectly with HALL Wines, 2005 HALL Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
Guests will be tasked with sampling each dish and declaring the HALL Cabernet Cookoff™ champion. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy music, cooking demonstrations, and HALL Wine tastings.
WHY: In efforts to identify, guide, and encourage chefs who share HALL Wines’ concern for the environment, the winery is providing this unique opportunity for chefs and enthusiastic home cooks to come together to showcase their talent and passion for food and wine pairing. Also, to support the local Napa Valley community, a portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to a Napa Valley Non-Profit of the winning teams’ choice.
WHERE: This extraordinary event will take place at HALL St. Helena, a premier 21st century, state-of-the-art vineyard and winery, which was the first winery in the state of California to be Gold LEED® certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.
