The parade begins at NOON (line-up 11 am) where Little West 12th St., Gansevoort St., Greenwich St. and 9th Ave. all converge in Greenwich Village. MARCH TO Union Square Park (north end).
Music • Speakers • Exhibitors...
The First Veggie Pride Parade in America took place in Greenwich Village, New York City, in May 2008. The third will take place on Sunday, May, 2010!
The parade will once again be launched from the Olde Meat District and will culminate in Union Square Park where a festival of music, speakers, free vegan food, and exhibitors will take place.
And again this year, parade participants will wear costumes and carry sign boards announcing pride in their vegetarian lifestyles. And again local restaurants and veggie and veg-friendly groups will represent themselves with banners.
Marchers are expected from all persuasions of the vegetarian movement: animal-rights activists, environmentalists, spiritualists, raw enthusiasts, and people just concerned with their health. And as last year, all are expected to come together with one voice, one expression, of veggie pride.
