World Fair Trade Day - Find or Create a Canada or US Fair Trade Event

Fair Trade: Economic action to create a just global economy for farmers and artisans.
Last year, World Fair Trade attracted over 65,000 participants in the US, a record. Help us break the record this year, by hosting an event in your community, A World Fair Trade Day event could be as simple as voting with your dollars for Fair Trade by buying a Fair Trade product or asking your local store why they don't stock more of them. But you could do that tomorrow.
With World Fair Trade Day nearly two months off, there's time to think of something a little more ambitious and find people to help you pull it off. The Fair Trade Resource Network's World Fair Trade Day site (linked above) connects you to events near you, or resources to help you produce your own event. Find fliers, brochures, free products, Fair Trade games, and other tips and resources, and post a link to your event. You can also win Fair Trade prizes by entering a 'Fair Trade My Home' contest and posting photos of your event on the Fair Trade My Home Facebook page (fairtrademyhome).
If you're feeling like organizing something a little more low-key, consider a Fair Trade house party or fundraiser. The Green America web site features stories of other Green Americans who have done just this, to inspire you. See: www.greenamericatoday.org/
