The BYOBag Raffle is a project of the Ukiah High School Environmental Club.

The Ukiah High School Environmental Club hopes that the BYOBag raffle will encourage citizens to bring their re-usable bags when shopping, thereby cutting down on the 1 million plastic bags used every minute. Why is this necessary? Plastic bags are the second-most common type of ocean refuse, after cigarette butts. They remain toxic even after they break down. Plastic bags are an unnecessary part of our lives. Let's wean ourselves from them!
How we are trying to make this event "green":
The venue for the BYOBag Raffle is Ukiah Brewing Company & Restaurant, the first Certified Organic brewpub in the US. All their food and beer is certified organic! They buy from local farmers, local wineries and local fisheries! They love sustainability & localization and are part of Transition Town movement. See their website for more green info:
