ECO Maya Festival originated in 1995 and is recognized throughout Southern California. Its uniqueness ties in with the recognized Earth Day in the U.S. Eco Maya Festival is the originator of the creation of the “World’s Largest Tamal”. A spe-cial gathering of community volunteers join in the making of the tamal prior to the event. (Elders, Youth, Children, Moms and Dads) Everyone joins in the tradition of sampling the tamal at the event! ¨
