    The annual GMIC Sustainable Meetings Conference is the premier event for planners and suppliers to address sustainability issues that are redefining the events industry. Whether you are an experienced green meetings professional or in the beginning stages of implementing green event practices, the annual Sustainable Meetings Conference will help take your green meeting strategies to the next level.

    How we are trying to make this event "green":

    In an effort to minimize its environmental impact, the Sustainable Meetings Conference will follow Green Event Practices. Our first goal is to do what we can to reduce our carbon footprint, and secondly to offset those emissions we cannot avoid.
    Below is an outline of the steps we are taking to make this event as sustainable as possible:
    Conference Materials
    • Printed on at least 50% post consumer waste recycled content paper;
    • Paperless online registration and speaker selection process; and,
    • Supplies are sourced from a green preferred supplier list.
    Green Office
    • All staff live within a 15 mile radius of the office or work remotely;
    • Operations are 100% carbon neutral and 100% powered by renewable energy;
    • Minimal printing on 100% recycled paper (only one printer in the office);
    • Use FSC certified printers and print on 100% recycled paper, processed chlorine-free using soy inks;
    • 100% natural daylighting used during the day (no need for office lights until after sunset);
    • Green Seal certified or natural home made cleaning products;
    • Office kitchen features china (no disposables) and condiments in bulk.
    Energy and Carbon
    • Website powered using Green-e certified 100% renewable energy credits (wind and solar-powered energy).
