EMU, the Eco-Music Festival will take place at Colorado’s Snowmass Village from June 30 - July 3. The event pledges to be carbon neutral and hold appeal for both eco-enthusiasts and music fans. Performers include: Leftover Salmon, Tea Leaf Green, RJD2, Perpetual Groove, New Mastersounds and Stokeswood. The headlining band will be announced May 29th. The festival also will host the "Eco-Climb-it Challenge," a 3,000 vertical-foot competitive mountain climb, among other activities.
EMU and The Neenan Company are re-inventing the traditional music festival tent. Last month, top designers submitted designs of completely sustainable tents for use at the Eco Music Festival. Three were chosen as finalists, and one has been selected: The “X” Tent by Neenan designer, Ben Shepard. For more info, see: Eco Salon Article
The EMU team will also join forces with Trees, Water & People: a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to improve people’s lives by helping communities to protect, conserve and manage the natural resources upon which their long-term well being depends. With every EMU Festival ticket purchased, $1 will be donated to Trees, Water & People to plant a tree. Each tree planted will offset 220 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions.
TICKETS are now on sale, with details at: Emufestival.com
