Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment (ACE) brings together some of the area’s leading eco-friendly suppliers and service-providers for its second annual Green Living Expo. The Expo will allow area residents to interact with local businesses, organizations, and government agencies to learn more about energy efficiency and being more environmentally-friendly. The Expo is on Saturday, March 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Washington-Lee High School at 1301 North Stafford Street in Arlington. Expo-goers can visit with business owners, learn what local nonprofits are doing, and hear how others are working to make Arlington a greener community. There will be activities and booths for participants of all ages. “The Expo is a great opportunity for Arlingtonians to see what is out there that can help us all lead greener, healthier lives,” says Elenor Hodges, the executive director of Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment, the Expo’s sponsor. “Individuals and organizations can do any number of things to reduce their footprint and the Expo is a great event for those just getting started or who are looking to add to some of the things they have already done at home.” The Expo, the largest of its kind in Northern Virginia, brings together over 50 exhibitors with a broad range of interests and expertise, including cooking with local foods, energy conservation, eco-friendly transportation, green home remodeling, healthy home products, socially responsible investments, solid-waste reduction, and sustainable landscaping. The exhibitors will share how they work with the community and showcase their services and products. The Expo will also feature various seminars, children’s activities, and a raffle.
How we are trying to make this event "green":
The event will take place in a LEED-certified public high school and we are giving schools the chance to show-off their green initiatives! |
