How we are trying to make this event "green":
In an effort to minimize its environmental impact, Profit Plus Planet? will follow strict Green Event Practices. Our first goal is to do what we can to reduce our carbon footprint, and then secondly to offset those emissions we cannot avoid. Below is an outline of the steps we are taking to make this event as sustainable as possible.
Green Practices
Conference Materials:
Printed on at least 50% post consumer waste recycled paper with soy inks.
Paperless online registration system and speaker confirmation process.
Suppliers selected from preferred sustainable supplier list.
Food and Beverage:
Work with venue to create menu items featuring local and organic produce.
Serve all meals on china with linens to reduce use of disposable items.
Serve condiments in bulk.
Serve only sustainable seafood as indicated by Seafood Watch.
Energy and Carbon:
Event web site is powered using Green-e certified 100% renewable energy.
Event carbon footprint will be calculated and offsets will be recommended (in addition to active reduction measures).
Green Office – The event production office of Three Squares Inc. follows the following practices:
All staff live within a 15 mile radius of the office or work remotely.
Operations are 100% carbon neutral and 100% powered by renewable energy.
Minimal printing on 100% recycled paper (only one printer in the office).
Use of FSC certified printers and print on 100% recycled paper, processed chlorine free using soy inks for all letterhead.
Office designed for 100% natural daylighting (no need for office lights until after sunset).
Green Seal certified or all natural handmade cleaning products.
Office kitchen features china (no disposables) and condiments in bulk.
Fair trade organic shade grown coffee. |
