Welcome to the 6th annual “A Taste of Autumn,” taking place on Sunday, October 2 from 1-5 p.m. at Frey Ranch in Redwood Valley.

This harvest celebration includes organic appetizers and desserts, local wines, a silent auction, and a lot of good music. The line-up this year features (info coming soon).

In keeping with the local flavor of “A Taste of Autumn”, regional wines will be served, as well as delicacies created with Mendocino home garden-grown veggies. As always, cooks at the barbeque will be turning out grilled meats and greens. Fresh baked bread from the outdoor wood-fire oven will be available with a variety of toppings. Kids will enjoy pressing apples harvested from Butler Community Orchard at Ridgewood Ranch.

The silent auction will offer green items and services, such as homemade organic jams and jellies and a personal garden-in-a-day package. There will be special getaways, including (info coming soon). There are always delightful surprises among the work handcrafted by local artisans.

Advance tickets for “A Taste of Autumn” are $20 at Mendocino Book Company in Ukiah and at Good’s Stamp Shoppe in Willits; $30 at the door. Kids 5 -12 are $5. Appetizers and desserts come with the price of admission.

To reach Frey Vineyards at 14,000 Tomki Rd. in Redwood Valley, take West Road from Highway 101 north to Tomki Rd and turn left. The entry is on the left 1.9 miles north of the intersection of Tomki and West Roads.

The “A Taste of Autumn" fundraiser event is a collaborative effort between the Butler Cherry Ranch Project and Hearthstone Village, that benefits both local and global efforts, including support for Hearthstone Village’s current project, the Reveil Matinal Orphanage in Port au Prince, Haiti, and the Butler Project’s community orchard in Willits.
