Choices for Sustainable Living is a seven-session discussion guide exploring the meaning of "sustainable living" and the ties between lifestyle choices and their impact on the earth. Series meets in Appleton Farms' newly renovated "Old House" on seven Tuesdays, October 25 through December 6, 5:30 -7:30 PM. $30 for Trustees of Reservations members; $40 for non-members. How we are trying to make this event "green":
Appleton Farms' Center for Agriculture and the Environment is in the process of earning LEED platinum certification, it will be a net-zero-energy building, and will serve as a demonstration model for sustainable restoration. It’s not just the end product that has a green hue; 100 percent of the demolition and construction waste was recycled or reused. |
